Report: Sustainable Resources 2003

856 people from or working in over 120 countries registered and well over 2000 people participated in various ways. 237 volunteers helped organize 165 presenters, public talks, pre-conference seminars and a 40,000 sq. ft. exhibit hall filled with displays from both commercial and non-profit groups. Mainly from registration funds, we gave 308 scholarships and over $24,000 in travel expenses - and still came out several thousand dollars ahead.

Feedback Report: Sustainable Resources 2003

"Over the years I have attended many meetings. Sustainable Resources 2003 gathered the most diversity and potential to heal the heart of humanity and the Earth I have seen anywhere." - William Evans, MD

"I feel like I've been in different world: people were so open, friendly and enthusiastic. - Tatiana Bodganova, Belarus

“I was absolutely dumfounded at what you and your teams achieved. We, and the whole world, owe you a very great debt of gratitude. You have created a groundswell that we must not lose.” – Maury Albertson, Peace Corps and Village Earth founder

“There was no place at Sustainable Resources for ‘the sky is falling’ rhetoric that can be so harmful to any kind of progress. Instead, it focused to the point of pleasant exhaustion on a wealth of practical solutions that offered hope where people often see none. The next conference cannot come soon enough.” - David Schaller, Sustainable Development Coordinator, USEPA Denver

“We’re returning home with new friends and lots of inspiration.” – Abdul Kagga, Uganda

"You have turned heads.  Everyone I talked to about the conference, speakers and audience alike, offered rave reviews. You and your team did an extraordinary job both in content and organization. Word will quickly spread. Turnout will be much larger for the next session. Thanks for a job well done." Michael Kinsley, Principal, Rocky Mountain Institute

"It was one of the best conferences -- and I believe the most important -- I have ever attended." - Neville Williams, SELCO
