Track Keynote Talks

Track keynotes are organized into 3 parallel sets of 4 talks. Each set has a theme of either "Resources," "Community Building," or "Organizational Sustainability" and includes a speaker addressing the theme from either the personal grassroots (P), institutional corporate or non-profit (I), educational (E) or governmental policy (G) point of view.

Ed (Eagle Man) Mcgaa - an Oglala who studied under Chief Eagle Feather and Chief Fool's Crow. He also flew 110 combat missions as a Marine in Vietnam receiving numerous honors. (P)

William Reed - one of the nation's leading experts on green and regenerative design with a focus on uniting green building, site design and regional ecological health into a whole-systems approach. (G)

Sobonfu Somé - one of the foremost voices in African spirituality, Sobonfu was destined from birth to teach the ancient wisdom, ritual and practices of her ancestors, to share the rich spiritual life and culture of her native land Burkina Faso, one of the world's poorest countries economically yet one of the richest in spiritual life and custom.(I)

Paul Stamets - one of the world’s leading experts in mushroom cultivation, use and identification; creative innovator in the use of fungi for the restoration, replenishment and remediation of Earth's overburdened ecosphere. (E)

Paul Polak – recently named an “Entrepreneur of the Year” for social responsibility, Paul established a business approach to poverty alleviation that’s generated over $200M of sustainable income for poor villages markedly improving the lives of millions of people. (E)
Marshall Rosenberg - has taken up where Gandhi, King, and other past visionary leaders for peace left off. An internationally renowned visionary himself, Rosenberg 's credentials rank him as one of the foremost new leaders for world peace. (P)
